“ A quick search tells me that a few countries border the Aegean Sea. Largely by Greece and parts of Türkiye. It is no wonder that I identified the sweet treats here as Turkish Delight at the first glance, but upon reading more, I realized that Greece also has similar treats (loukoumi) and so it's more of a regional delight. Recently I got some of these treats via UberEats. I ordered a few things to try, but the shop must have ran out because I got a few substitutes. The owner also gave us a free piece for the trouble. All tasted pretty good. I especially enjoyed the Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie Turkish Delight- 1/4LB which thankfully, was not substituted. Since they also serve Greek and Turkish coffee as well as tea, I may pay a visit next time I'm in this part of Castro. I usually go to the Philz Coffee next door, so maybe that's why I haven't been in. “ If you haven't come in here, you're missing out. Sadly, I'm allergic to pistachios (oh how I miss pistachios) and cashews. But they have delicious halva and turkish delights without pistachios and nuts. I get the chocolate covered halva and the gold covered rolled candies. And the owner is fun to chat with. He'll stay open past listed hours, if there are people who will go into his store. ”

“ This Turkish cafe (coffee and sweet treats) is a little Castro gem. The guy who helped us was so kind, helpful, and welcoming ~ you can tell he's a proud business owner and he wants to share his culture with others. The seating is cute and he brings out the coffee to you. So many treats to try and enjoy with the dark coffee. Also lots of cool trinkets and decor here, I'll buy some as gifts for friends on their birthdays. Baklava reminded my partner of how his Bosnian grandma use to make it - so that's how you know it's good!!
